This is a continuation of the Clerks homage, but I also wanted to make sure that people got to see how Lee interacts with the general public. Also, he owns the bookstore, people needed to see him at work. The shirt is based on an actual shirt that the real life Lee wore. Cinemorte was a horror film festival that happened every year down in the states (I want to say Seattle but I know I’m going to get corrected on this) with a satellite show that would take place here in Vancouver. Like all good film festivals it unfortunately came to an end.

This was a combination of me showing “A Day in the Life of Lee” and an homage to “Clerks”.

When I first started this comic, there were a lot of homages while  I struggled to get a feel for the characters. Once I was comfortable with the characters and the story, the homages happened more incidentally.

The Obligatory Splash Page.

What? You expected a long drawn out story on what went into this page? Okay, here goes.

The scene came from an idea I for a quick comic after “Lee” loaned his scarf to a girl (which was one of those super long striped scarves that were all the rage back in the day). We were walking down the street, doing some window shopping when all of a sudden, the girl jolted back, like a dog being brought to heel on a leash. The scarf had gotten snagged on a street bench. She untangled herself and we continued on and I made the joke about “Lee’s” scarf attacking people. See? Not as funny as what my head makes out of it.

Because the actual comic took so long to come out (I move slowly, what can I say?) I put a recap page in the comic. However, now that it’s online, there isn’t a gap between updates like there was when it originally came out. Which is why I threw this in as an extra rather than having this as an official update (which would be lame). If this is your first time to the site, this is a good a page as any to start on. If it isn’t, don’t worry, next week there will be a real update, with a real comic strip…. I promise!

Happy New Year everyone!

A new year and a new issue! #4 was an interesting story. It originally took me a year to get done because of the way I create this comic. Once I finished it, I realised, (unfortunately after I ran a couple of print runs) that I really had two issues. As a result, I went through the story and broke it up into issue #4 and issue #5.

This means that there are extremely limited editions of Isaac & Lee floating around out there that comprise both issues. I’ve entitled it Giant Sized Isaac & Lee. It’s got a sketchy cover with Isaac and Lee and an explosion in the background.

This is the final up to date single issue #4 cover. Stay tuned this week for an extra update as I bring you the first page which recaps the story so far. Next week…. an actual strip!
