Trouble is My Business Part 4 (Page 19)

Yet another page that I look at and shudder. I have learned quite a bit about inking with Photoshop over the years. All I can say is that I understand why artists are tempted to rework old pieces, as if by doing so they scream out, “I’m not as crappy as I used to be!!! I promise!”

Or maybe that’s just me.

I really like the character of Rich, he is a good supporting character for Lee. I find it interesting that as I’ve added more characters to the story, how much more detailed each one gets, although I’ve made a conscious decision not to draw them realistically, some of it still creeps into the work.

Things go smoothly with a girl and Lee? Unheard of!

I had a lot of fun designing the books this time around, although in retrospect I would have liked to have a little something going on in the background. I blame Maurice Sendak for that, I have always been influenced by how he always had a whole different story going on in the backgrounds of his books and have incorporated that idea in otherwise boring backgrounds that I’ve had to draw.

One of the things that I’ve always liked to do was have things going on in the background of my work. Because they are in a sleazy bar, what else is going to happen? A bar fight of course.

Happy Birthday to the person who Lee is based off of. You know who you are! Without you, this comic wouldn’t even be here. Have a great day!

(At this point I’d like to point out how cool it is that this comic has updated itself on both Isaac and Lee’s birthdays)
