Getting Back on Track
Hello everyone!
I’d like to take this chance to welcome everyone back! For those of you who popped by to see if there were new updates, I really appreciate it! These past few months have been extremely stressful with the computer break down and then convention season beginning. But now that my computer is fixed and I’m back from Calgary, I’m ready to bring you new stories!
But in addition to new stories, I’d also like to link to my older stories for those people who are just coming to the site. What I’m going to do for those people is have Throwback Thursdays, but I’m not going to repost the old strips as I know that’ll break up the continuity for those of you who are up to date. So instead, I’m going to post a link to the old strips.
Another thing that I’m going to be doing as well is opening up for commissions. This will not take away from the site. If anyone wants commission work done, please head over to my store at store.moongatestudios.com and click on the commission button.
The final thing that I am also doing is revamping my Patreon Page. Basically, I’m passing around the hat and asking for donations. I don’t need much, but it would be handy to be able to offset the cost of hosting the site, which, after over ten years of comic creating now needs to move to a bigger server. Really, any little bit is a appreciated and I’m only too happy to show my gratitude by offering advance content, sketches and other goodies. so become a Patron today! https://www.patreon.com/Beth
Again, I’d like to thank you all for sticking by me and coming back as I get back to creating the comics you know and love!

Continuing Struggles…
Technical Issues
I am struggling with computer issues. As a result, I may not get this Friday’s post up. I know that things have been erratic this year but I hope to be able to get back on track by the end of March.
Thanks to all of you loyal fans out there. The wackiness will return shortly.
Isaac’s Run 5 Part 4
Hey guys, sorry that this one was late and that there isn’t a new Isaac & Lee update. This month has been very disorganized for me. But I’m going to try to get on top (and hopefully ahead) on the posting but bear with me as we enter the convention season.
Thanks again for reading!
EDIT: There is a colour error on this page! I couldn’t let it slide so see below the corrected page:

I was on a podcast!
Just Joshin’ is a podcast about literature and pursuing dreams. Joshua Pantalleresco talks about current happenings in his career and interviews authors, comic creators and more.
I had a lot of fun talking with Josh and we spoke about everything from the creative process to gaming.

Isaac & Lee: The Beginning : Part 5
This is my Cat note book:
It was the second note book where I jotted down thumbnails and story ideas for Isaac and Lee. It has a nice velvety cover (which also decided to double as a lint brush apparently, as per all of the cat and human hairs and lint that it’s collected)
It occurs to me that I lost this notebook for a while so I had to recreate pages while I was trying to finish the second story. as I look through this book now, I’m pretty sure that there are alternate pages that never made it into the second issue.
Isaac & Lee: The Beginning : Part 4
When I was just starting out, I had no confidence in my artwork….I don’t know how much that’s changed really. Well, that’s not true. Back in the day, I threw this out as an idea for a cover but immediately shot it down because I thought that I couldn’t draw it at a decent level. Now? If I were to have this rough draft for a cover? I would be able to create a cover from this, no problem!
Isaac & Lee: The Beginning : Part 3
My goal with Isaac & Lee was to simply make a comic book, working on developing the production and printing process, unfortunately art and story were the afterthought and I tried to keep the initial story fairly simple because I wanted my main focus to be on creating the physical book. I consciously modelled my art style after Bil Keene with a bit of Hergé because I wanted an art style that I could easily create. Again, this was me focusing on the process of creating a physical book rather than the art and story behind it.
Isaac & Lee: The Beginning : Part 2
My process back then was to do thumbnails and then to pencil and ink each panel on a separate page. Then, as you can see below, I would paste them on to a page manually in order to create the layout. Keep in mind, this was my first comic and I hadn’t learned the process yet. In fact, I wouldn’t break out of this part of the for several books.
